In light of our 14th annual Girls Day at the State House this Thursday, March 18. Let us take a moment and consider the need for girl’s leadership on the State and National level. With 100 girls filling the halls of the State House, learning to lobby and debate like grown-up elected officials, why don’t we take this opportunity to go back to school – the school of Women’s leadership – I bet you won’t ace this quiz:
1.) How many countries have women as their elected head of state?
2.) How many women are in Barack Obama’s cabinet?
3.) What percent of State Governors are women?
4.) What percent of Congress?
5.) What percent of the U.S. Supreme Court?
6.) What percent of the Maine Legislature?
7.) How many women have been Governor of Maine?
Answers will be posted tomorrow at noon, good luck!
