Come be a part of our feminist community!
Volunteer and help us build a gender-just Maine!
There are multiple ways anyone can get involved with the Maine Women’s Lobby, at all levels of experience and time commitment. All you need is a passion for equality, justice and building a fierce feminist community in Maine!
Every year there are multiple opportunities for people to write testimony in support of our priority bills (or against bad bills!); write letters to the editor in local publications; contact legislators to push legislation, or attend a rally or other in-person action event. Subscribe to our mailing list or follow us on social media to stay up to date on the latest action opportunities!

Host a house party!
If you’re interested in raising money to support our work, consider hosting a house party at your house, or teaming up with a friend to host one! We can provide information and support. This is a low-key and fun way to support Maine Women’s Lobby! We also host multiple fundraising events throughout the year and would love your help at any or all of them.
Join our board or a committee
Each year we have an open call to recruit new members for our board of directors. If you’re interested in board service, consider reaching out to inquire about joining. We also have several additional board committees where non-board members are welcome to serve - we strive to include many diverse voices!
Join us at a public event!
The Lobby is everywhere! We attend lots of public events all over the state, all year-round - conferences, workshops, fundraisers, parades, festivals, film screenings, concerts. Whether it’s a Pride Festival in June or a mid-winter conference with one of our partner organizations, you can help us by tabling, signing up new members or even just lending a helping hand where needed.
Volunteer at Girl’s Day
Every year we host Girl’s Day at the State House, a program for girls and gender-expansive youth to learn about policy, politics and the legislative process. If you can share your expertise in this area or simply help us organize the event, please reach out!
Learn, Share, & Connect
We regularly host or co-host events, actions, trainings, and other opportunities to take action for gender equity with our member community and partners. Connect with an opportunity or take a look at the statewide feminist calendar in our events tab!
